From Cheakamus to Chile, the Arc'teryx Gamma MX Hoody is the proven and popular softshell middle layer for technical climbing, hiking and backpacking. Essentially it's the hooded version of the award-winning Arc'teryx Gamma MX Jacket, with the same warm and lightweight Polartec® Power Shield™ fabric in an identical athletic cut. The fabric features a special DWR finish that keeps moisture away from your skin on misty mornings and foggy ascents. Unlike most so-called performance fleece, Polartec® Power Shield™ fabric is exceptionally resilient to wear and won't snag like other material. Gear and gadget freaks will appreciate the five storage pockets, including a laminated sleeve pocket sized for a two-way radio. Interior front zipper wind flaps and an adjustable hem drawcord help seal out cool breezes. Don't be surprised if you find yourself wearing the Gamma MX Hoody throughout the rest of the year.

Gamma MX Hoody = the best of the best. This jacket is the best i ever bought in my life for climbing and hiking and snowshoeing. It is very breathable and fairly windproof, and also protect very well against a light rain or snow. I tested during a snowshoeing trip and had very good result with it in a multi-layer system. I just used to wear an Arc'teryx Rho LTW Zip Top shirt as a base layer and a polartec 100 under it when it is cold . Always perfect never too hot or too cold. Very good overall qualities

GREAT JACKET, LOVE THE HOOD used to have a a gamma mx regular jacket, and that was greatt, but after upgrading to this jacket, its just awesome, great warmth for hiking backcountry and keeps you warmer than you think once your skiing. expensive but worth it.

nice-simply and perfectly fabric is awesome,, great for high output- not a warm shell- a great windblocker and bacsic hooded softshell to guard you from elements- atheletic fit- buy it for its purpose and you cannot find a better climbing shell- to go to the mall look to north face :)
