The Xenon 85 has a custom moldable hipbelt for a personalized fit and a dual density foam harness with softer cutouts in the neck and armpit regions for all day backpacking comfort. When you finally arrive at basecamp and venture out on a day hike, take along the convertible top pocket/lumbar pack and the Ultralight AquaSource ReCurve hydration system so you can stay fueled and hydrated while carrying a light load.

The best ever pack for women Osprey has been know for creating great packs, and this Xeon 85 pack is perfect for women. It's loaded with so many features that your amazed how you ever got by without them before. Some of the best features is the custom molding waist belt. All you do is take your pack to your local Osprey retailer and they take your waist belt and bake it in a special oven designed by Osprey and it makes a perfect custom fit to your body/hips. But the comfort fit doesn't stop there, the back panel is designed to provide great support through an Air Mesh designed which helps immensely with keep your back dry and comfortable for mile after mile hikes. The two side pockets on both sides of pack near your waist belt are very convenient for storing cameras, snack packs, water bottles, and anything else you want close at hand. And finally, one of my favorite features is the front stretch pocket that has mesh air vents is perfect for putting anything from guide books/maps to wet clothes or jackets for the rain. Osprey has truly thought of everything you might need for a long week trip with this backpack, and the fit is truly perfect and designed just for women!

Xenon 85 vs. Gregory Deva 85 I had a really hard time choosing between the Xenon and the Gregory Deva. Both are great packs with +5000 cu in of storage, which was hard to find in a women's small. I chose the Xenon because it fits a Bear Vault easily and the wide mouth sleeping bag compartment holds my sleeping bag without the wrestling match that came with the Gregory Deva. Also, straps can be added to the removable hydration sleeve so you can carry the bladder without the pack. That's a million dollar feature for day use while in the back country. All packs should have this capability. The Xenon had two minor issues during it's first use. A buckle broke on the sleeping pad strap and the hydration sleeve ripped. Both had little impact my overall enjoyment of our trip. And Osprey will repair under warranty. But it does make me leery of the pack's ruggedness, especially since the problems occurred on a really light weekend trip. This pack has to survive a lot more abuse if it's going to be my trusted load monster.
