very wearable in all situations lightweight and comfortable with soft inside liner on waistband, I find myself wearing these pants everyday by choice even though I originally bought them for a vacation. The knee length when the bottom is unzipped and taken off is perfect - short enough to be cool and long enough to be flattering to any shape leg. Only reservation and minor detail is that there are no pockets.
