Burton: Women's Escapade EST Snowboard Bindings

If you're planning on high-end freeriding in remote terrain, the Burton Women's Escapade EST should have the top spot on your preflight checklist. It's durable and it offers infinite adjustment settings, but most of all it's incredibly lightweight when you consider how many features Burton loaded into this freeride masterpiece. This version of the Escapade has an EST designation that means it is specifically designed for new Burton snowboards with the versatile Channel binding interface feature. While similar in function to the Men's CO2 EST binding, the Escapade EST has Burton's anatomically distinct True Fit Design throughout the chassis. It also has a different baseplate composite material made from fiberglass and nylon because most advanced and expert women freeriders don't require the extra structural integrity of carbon fiber--and that adds up to some significant savings. The special EST baseplate allows for infinite stance configurations through The Channel interface on Burton's newest snowboards, but the key aspect of the Escapade EST baseplate is that it accomplishes this without compromising the edge-to-edge power transmission from your feet to your snowboard. For landings, there's a removable SuperBED cushioning that helps absorb impact shock without completely compromising your feel of the snow conditions beneath your snowboard. The Escapade EST features Burton's new Minimized Ultrastrap Air and Ultra Capstrap. It's a high-end ankle strap filled with encapsulated air padding to minimize weight and (more importantly) improve response. Tighten it up if you need to feel it's there, but this is the sort of performance binding strap that when sized and adjusted, you can easily wear all day without enduring excess foot fatigue. Again--remember that unlike the traditional Escapade binding, this Escapade EST is developed exclusively for Burton snowboards with The Channel binding interface built in to the snowboard. Be sure that you pair this binding with The Channel system. If your Burton board doesn't have The Channel, the standard Escapade freeride binding is worth checking out--it still offers new improvements and refinements over last year's model.
