The Lashed is one of the few snowboard boots that doesn't feature a Boa dial closure on the shell, but this traditional lace-up boot is a favorite among all-mountain snowboarders and the Stepchild snowboard pros. Compared to where snowboard boots have been, the new Lashed boot has a lighter design with plenty of impact-absorbing potential thanks to the STI Evolution Foam along the midsole and outsole. The weight savings compared to other ThirtyTwo boots from previous seasons ranges between 15% to 40% depending on the boot model. Despite the minimized ounces, STI Evolution Foam remains dense enough to absorb the shocks and vibrations associated with big air landings and high-speed chatter on hardpack snow. Up front you'll find a distinct 3-D molded tongue that wraps the front of your foot in ergonomic support and helps optimize the boot fit and lacing convenience. ThirtyTwo customizes the stiffness of their 3-D molded tongues to match individual model flex ratings, so if you own an older ThirtyTwo snowboard boot with a lower (looser) flex rating, you might notice that the Lashed feels a bit stiffer in the front of your foot. That traditional, no-Boa lacing closure uses a new and exclusive ThirtyTwo Independent Lacing Eyestay System that doesn't allow the laces to slip loose as your boot flexes along the articulated cuff while riding.
